Today, we held a press conference on the deck of the RV Martin Sheen. Over 100 people attended. Dr. David Suzuki, Chief Ernie Crey, Elected Chief Robert Chamberlin and Sea Shepherd director Pamela Anderson spoke before a media gallery that crowded the stern of the ship.
Chief Ernie Crey spoke Fraser River Nations uniting in their concern for the wild salmon of the river and the impact of salmon farms. Pamela Anderson told the audience that protecting wild salmon from salmon farms and thus protecting whales and the oceans was in our hands. Elected-chief Robert Chamberlin spoke of the Wild Salmon Alliance, a gathering on BC Nations for wild salmon. Dr. Suzuki asked why DFO was not protecting wild salmon! There were drummers and the Musqueam Nation sent a representative to welcome the guests.

Alex, we heard this terrific news while in anchor in Skidegate after crossing yesterday. We will be back in the Great Bear Wilderness in 10 days of so and keep our eyes open for you and Sea Shepard.
